Ameritron's SDA-100 is without a doubt the best built, best looking, best performing HF Mobile Screwdriver Antenna in the world! When properly installed on your vehicle this antenna will provide continuous coverage from 10 Meters through 80 Meters with a 6 foot whip. Remove the whip to get 6 Meters through 40 Meters coverage. What makes our antennas stand above all the rest is the top-quality construction. All of our CNC machined components are either aircraft aluminum or stainless steel and blueprinted, meaning you can take 100 antennas apart and mix them up, then reassemble and they all work the same. Our coil form is approximately 2 inches in diameter and made of fiberglass. The other antenna builders know fiberglass is better but they choose not to use it because of the expense and difficulty in machining. We use 14 gauge wire for high power capability wound at eight turns an inch for maximum efficiency. We machine groove our coils so they will not loosen up or jam -- it won't wear out, for years of trouble free service! The decoupler we use is CNC machined for tight tolerances with custom fingerstock designed to contact 3 turns of coil all the time with over 25 pounds of combined contact pressure. A new heavy duty Pittman Commercial 12 volt gear motor is very durable and very quiet while receive tuning. This motor is super heavy duty and will provide long-term trouble-free service. Antennas come with the sensors already pre-installed so if you decide to add an auto controller now or later everything is ready. The SDA-100 comes in a handsome black finish. Folks, this is not spray paint in a can. It's the Dupont Basecoat/Clearcoat system. Every tube goes through several stages before painting: basic cleaning, sanding, acid bath, enchant bath, Dupont Self-Etching Primer, another sanding, Dupont Primer, and then yet another sanding, Dupont Basecoat Paint, Dupont Clearcoat and then a final Polishing and Waxing. With this you get a finish that looks as glossy and lasts as long as the paint on a vehicle.
